Every one normally is sensitive to signs and symptoms even in practical day to day existence. The beauty sometimes lies in the fashion in which people work themselves around the impediments. Sometimes the human mind and heart refuse to see or accept the truth. Diabetes is no stranger to our ears; as a matter of fact each of us knows at least one diabetic in our lifetime personally. Having a little knowledge puts us in a better position of understanding the seriousness of the disease.
The insulin that is produced by the pancreas is either very little or nothing at all. The pancreas is at fault here. It’s like the pancreas is a let down. What causes the disorder is yet a fact to be established but then obesity, heredity and environmental causes can be blamed. Also it is a lifestyle related disease. Insulin is the vehicle that the glucose rides on into the cells where a conversion takes place – the glucose becomes energy which is further used by the body.
This malfunction causes the glucose or sugar level in the body to rise steadily. This stagnation can cause irreversible damage to the eyes, heart, nerves, kidneys and blood vessels. Gangrene and amputations are at times inevitable. Heart attacks and strokes are always a possibility. Other symptoms include dry mouth, slow healing wounds and bruises, excessive urination, increased appetite, excessive thirst, fatigue and tiredness, nausea, vomiting, numbness in the hands and feet, itching skin in the groins and vaginal areas, yeast infections in men and women. Thrush, fruity odor from the mouth, dark velvety patches on the skin and blurry vision.
Every dark cloud has a silver lining so does the dark cloud diabetes. The good thing is that it can be harnessed and driven if detected in its early stages. One must never ignore any unusual symptoms in the body. It is a silent murderer but early detection can prevent serious complications. A good healthy diet and regular exercise reduces the risk considerably. Consult a doctor in case you are having weakness or fainting spells, trembling or a rapid heart beat or drowsiness comes upon you suddenly.
A physically inactive person is an open target for the disease. As they are at a risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. A diet that is poor in fiber is not recommended as there is risk of developing diabetes; fiber slows down the glucose rate that enters the bloodstream. It is regarded as a protective agent in the battle against diabetes. So incorporate fiber in your diet. If heart disease runs in your family then daily exercise is a must. Intake of sugary and fatty foods should not be encouraged.
Don’t be on the constant look out for the disease as what you fear will surely come upon you. All I’m saying is that you keep your eyes open and don’t say that you are ignorant if you have read this article. Nor allow fear to creep in on you. Just get on with life as you would if you were normal. No sweat, train yourself to be your own source of encouragement.
Life has to be lived no matter what, and nothing should come in your way!!
